Questseekers at the ready

David Wilson East Midlands is getting behind Leicestershire County Council's Libraries' Summer Reading Challenge this year in a bid to encourage more children to pick up a book during their holidays.
The Quest Seekers challenge, which is a national event, invites children aged 4-12 years, to embark upon a fantastical adventure through books and aims to encourage more youngsters to read for pleasure. The challenge runs from Saturday 4th July until Saturday 12th September and those taking part are tasked with visiting any library, or mobile library, three times during the summer and read, or listen to, six library books of their choice to complete the three stages of the quest.
Entry is free and every child who signs up receives a membership card and a special fold-out poster so they can keep track of the books they read. On completion of the challenge, participants will receive certificates and rewards.
David Wilson is one of a number of local organisations backing this worthwhile cause in the Hinckley and Bosworth area and has donated £50 to the prize fund.
